Dr. Max Rossmannek studied Chemistry and Computational Science and Engineering at ETH Zürich. He obtained his Master of Science ETH in 2020 after which he pursued a PhD at IBM Research Zürich and the department of chemistry of the University of Zürich. During his PhD studies, the focus of his research was on the development of hybrid quantum-classical embedding algorithms for the simulation of quantum chemical systems. Upon completion of his Dr. sc. nat., Max joined IBM Research Zürich full-time as a Research Scientist. In his current role, he is working on the integration of Quantum and HPC systems. To this extent he is developing new algorithms that exceed the capabilities of either one alone.
