EXPERIENCE WITH THE IAX IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM.

Abstract

The IAX system is a mainframe based image and signal processing tool. The IAX language is specifically designed for image and signal processing. In IAX, number, vector, image and character string data formats are manipulated. Data structures in these formats are held as variables and are processed by simple expressions. All data formats are manipulated using the same type of expressions, such as 'a equals (b plus c)/2', where 'b' and 'c' may be numbers, vectors or images in any combination. There are 18 IAX operators and about 200 functions.
