Empirical optimization of dynamical decoupling on quantum processors
Abstract
Dynamical decoupling (DD) is an effective way to suppress quantum computation errors with a low resource overhead. Here, we employ a combinatorial optimization scheme to empirically discover device-tailored DD sequences. We test our method on various quantum algorithms and show that our empirically optimized DD sequences significantly outperform theoretically-derived DD sequences.
