1.2 W 66 MHz Superscalar RISC microprocessor for set-tops, video games, and PDAs
Abstract
A 32 b processor, designed for desktop companions and high-end embedded multimedia applications with graphics-intensive requirements, is presented. This processor is the latest member of the PowerPC microprocessor family targeted for the low-power computing market. The design is a superscalar implementation featuring low-power operation with several battery-saving static-power management modes. An overview of its process features and chip characteristics are also presented.
