Sibusisiwe Makhanya

Sibusisiwe is a Research Manager & Leader at IBM Research Africa (Johannesburg), with teams working on advances in artificial intelligence, quantum computing and the applications of artificial intelligence in accelerating discoveries in climate science, sustainability, and health. She has a technical background in statistics, with a PhD in Spatial Statistics and continues to have research interest in applied statistical learning, risk, causal modelling and trustworthy AI. General topics of interest include climate, sustainability & environmental health.
