Natasha Mulligan, MSc, is a Research Engineer and Technical Lead at IBM Research working on artificial intelligence and machine learning for health and social care. Natasha has a background in Computer Science and over 10 years' experience in software engineering, designing, and delivering IBM products and services in both mainstream and custom-tailored projects in the areas of smart cities and health and social care.
In the last 4 years she has been working is the area of Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) with significant experience and contributions to wider healthcare terminologies and standards (UMLS, ICD, SNOMED-CT, Rx-Norm, LOINC). Natasha has vast experience in developing new and applying state-of-the-art NLP, deep learning, ontologies and Knowledge Graph techniques and frameworks.
Natasha has co-authored 8 peer-reviewed works in combining social and clinical domains for research and 12 patents of innovations in these areas.
Natasha's research interests are in the area of knowledge representation, in particular, in the area of Person-Centric Knowledge graphs and ontologies as well as Graph Neural Networks and graph embeddings.
