Dr. Chi Xiong is a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. His current research activities are focused on quantum transducers, optical sensors, and high-speed optical modulators. His other research interests include integrated nonlinear optical waveguides and optomechanical resonators.
Dr. Xiong received a B.S. degree in Microelectronics from Peking University, Beijing, China in 2006 and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in 2012. Prior to joining IBM in 2013, he was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Yale University. His research at Yale University includes chip-scale nonlinear optics and optomechanics based on nonlinear crystalline semiconductors, such as piezoelectric aluminum nitride thin films.
