Bio

I am a Research Scientist in the Computational Genomics group at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. I work in the intersection of Genomics, Applied Mathematics and Algorithms with a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing applications in healthcare and life sciences. My research revolves around making sense of complex, high dimensional multi-omics data by developing algorithms inspired from topological data analysis, randomized algorithms, artificial intelligence, networks, etc.

I joined IBM as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2019 and prior to that I obtained my PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN in 2019 under the guidance of Prof. Petros Drineas with a primary focus on developing computational methods in population genetics. I obtained my Masters in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY in 2016.

I grew up in Kolkata, India which is also known as the 'City of Joy'. For completeness please see my personal webpage.
