IBM at ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit 2024

About

IBM Research jointly with the IBM Infrastructure division, is developing a high-performance energy efficient cooling system to reduce Data Center cooling energy usage by more than 90% and eliminate water usage. This advanced technology uses two-phase cooling in which liquid is converted to a vapor to replace energy and water intensive air-cooled Data Center cooling systems. This advanced cooling technology has the potential to save the 19 billion kWh of electrical energy usage and eliminate 160 billion gallons of water consumption in the US per year. At the ARPA-E Summit 2024 (Booth # 323), the IBM team will be showcasing some of their latest prototypes and giving a live demo of their state-of-the-art modeling tools. Have a look at the PowerPoint presentation, read more about Systems Two Phase Cooling, or have a look at additional papers on this topic.
