This paper demonstrates the holographic storage and retrieval of multiple pixel-matched one-megapel data pages through a small transverse aperture, demonstrating a channel density of 155 bits/μm2. The high areal density was reached by confining the data-bearing object beam to a small aperture and by multiplexing a large number of holograms. A novel shift-compensation algorithm was developed to relax the magnification, distortion, and alignment tolerances of holographic data storage.
