Sustainable Computing: Measuring Application Energy Consumption in Kubernetes Environments with Kepler
Abstract
In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, the pursuit of environmental sustainability is becoming increasingly important due to the higher data center energy consumption. Therefore, in this talk, we will introduce Kepler, a pioneering initiative to report the applications energy consumption on Cloud. Additionally, we will first-time put the spotlight on Susql, a project aimed to leverage Kepler and aggregate the energy consumption of AI application deployed at Kubernetes. Furthermore, we will unveil our latest innovations in power model, including integration of SPECPower benchmarks and Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) technology. These developments empower developers and operators to make informed decisions regarding energy-efficient application design and deployment in Kubernetes environments. Join us to get insights to drive positive change towards a greener future in the cloud-native community.
