Ratio of the lattice thermal conductivities of normal and superconducting indium
Abstract
Measurements are reported of the thermal conductivity of ten specimens of indium with small amounts of tin and bismuth, with residual resistivities between 0.12 and 6 μΩ cm. The normal-state lattice conductivity shows the characteristic variation with electronic mean free path previously reported for other metals. The ratio of the lattice conductivities in the superconducting and normal states in the region where electron scattering predominates is in reasonable agreement with the theoretical predictions of Bardeen, Rickayzen, and Tewordt. © 1965 The American Physical Society.
