Optimum thickness for thermomagnetic writing

Abstract

It is shown that there is an optimum film thickness for laser writing. This thickness depends on the thermal properties of the film and substrate as well as on the optical properties. Calculations are presented for Fe-doped EuO. © 1972 The American Institute of Physics.
