Hypersearching the Web

Abstract

A new kind of search engine that exploits one of the Web's most valuable resources, its myriad hyperlinks, is developed. By analyzing these interconnections, the system automatically locates two types of pages, authorities and hubs. The former are deemed to be the best sources of information on a particular topic, the latter are collections to those locations. The methodology enable users to locate much of the information they desire quickly and efficiently.
