High-sensitivity silicide films for optical recording
Abstract
Polycrystalline films of noble-metal silicides were reported to be a good candidate for archival optical recording media. Typical writing power for half-saturation of contrast at 50-nsec pulse width is 30 mW at 6417 Å, and this is roughly three times that required to ablate holes in Te films. There are several ways of reducing writing energy, and in this paper we present a summary of our effort to obtain optimized bilayer structures. © 1982 Optical Society of America
