Fabrication of high-efficiency surface-relief Holograms
Abstract
Holographically generated thin surface relief holograms (SRH) or phase gratings of high spatial frequency, initially developed for applications in integrated optics and spectroscopy, are now considered for laser beam deflection elements In EO scanners and printers. Their most outstanding feature is proven high-transmission diffraction efficiency from nonblazed symmetric surface profiles. In addition they have potential for mass production by several two-step mechanical replication techniques involving the generation of a hard submaster from which copies are stamped or embossed into a variety of resins. © 1983 Optical Society of America
