A purely empirical HeAg(110) interaction potential is derived by fitting simultaneously the selective adsorption resonances and all diffractive scattering. Exact quantum scattering, i.e. close-coupling techniques, is used for the elastic scattering calculation. The resulting potential is briefly compared to theoretical calculations, semiempirical fitting schemes, and other He-metal interaction potentials. © 1983.
