Exchange anisotropy and spin-wave damping in CoFe/IrMn bilayers
Abstract
The magnetic properties and the spin-wave damping in ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic bilayers of CoFe/IrMn was investigated. The linewidths measured in ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and Brillouin light scattering (BLS) spectra provided direct information on the spin-wave damping in magnetic materials. A model for two-magnon scattering produced by defects on the interface yielded simple expressions for the linewidths.
