Chemisorption of organic molecules on ZnO(11̄00) surfaces: C5H5N, (CH3)2CO, and (CH3)2SO
Abstract
Ultraviolet photoemission studies of pyridine, acetone, and dimethyl sulfoxide adsorbed on ZnO(11̄00) show the involvement of molecular orbitals having π, π{black star}, and nitrogen and oxygen lone-pair character in formation of the chemisorption bond. No decomposition products from adsorption of these molecules are observed on the surface. © 1978.
