We consider a smart building infrastructure, where building owners provide energy sources to tenants. All building owners and tenants are equipped with smart meters, including energy consumption controller (ECC) units. These smart meters provide a communication infrastructure among building owners and tenants. We consider the scenario that building owners could adjust electricity price to shape building tenants' consumptions. We present both thermal and illumination models to control heating/cooling and illumination consumptions. We focus on the maximal social impacts by investigating an incentive pricing scheme for building load management. The case study of buildings in Singapore validates our proposed incentive pricing scheme and demonstrates the efficiency of our proposed models and algorithms. © 2014 IEEE.
