Bio
Dr. Stefan Woerner is a Principal Research Scientist and Manager of the Quantum Computational Science group at IBM Quantum, IBM Research Europe – Zurich. He received a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from ETH Zurich in 2010 and a Doctor of Sciences in Operations Management from ETH Zurich in 2013. Stefan is renowned for his research in quantum optimization, quantum finance, and quantum machine learning. He leads a multidisciplinary team advancing quantum computing across a broad range of application areas with the goal of achieving practically relevant quantum advantage. He has authored influential papers, supervised several PhD students, and regularly delivers keynotes at major conferences and institutions worldwide.
